58th Annual Meeting and 60th Annual Resident Surgeons Competition

The Annual Meeting and Resident Surgeons Competition took place on May 19-20, 2011, at the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel in Grand Rapids. This year, 75 abstracts were submitted for consideration and the top 49 were selected for presentation. Council Sets Future Strategic Priorities

The MCACS Council met in January to set future strategic priorities for the Chapter. At the meeting, the Council developed a new mission statement for the Chapter:

Dedicated to achieving the best practices of surgical care and assisting surgeons in Michigan by promoting and advocating for the highest standards of surgical education and ethical, quality-driven, patient-centered care.

They also created a new Chapter mission statement:

Committed surgeons in Michigan advancing patients' health through education and advocacy.
